My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you,
making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding;
yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,
if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures,
then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.
For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;
he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity,
guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of his saints.
Have you ever been part of a team where everyone is working hard to perform a task or accomplish a goal…except for one person. Their lack of commitment slows down the entire team; they endanger reaching the goal and all the benefits that come with it. All of this because they are not “all in”, i.e., not fully committed.
God lays out a clear path to having wisdom, His protection, and the associated benefits. These benefits lead to having victory in every area of life; overcoming obstacles that seem insurmountable. But, there is a catch…the realization of His benefits are conditional. Notice the key phrases in the passage above:
…if you receive…
…if you call out…
…if you seek…
Basically, you’ve got to be “all in” in order to experience more fully the goodness of God. Being casual and lackadaisical will only get you “half hearted” results at best.
Are you “all in” to seeking God and His wisdom? If so, your Team (the Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is fully engaged to bring victory in the game of life.
