Proverbs 1:2 – 4

For learning wisdom and discipline; for understanding insightful sayings;
for receiving prudent instruction in righteousness, justice, and integrity;
for teaching shrewdness to the inexperienced, knowledge and discretion to a young man— (CSB)

Great leaders are needed in every aspect of life. Families need great leadership to provide an environment of safety, stability, and integrity for children. Schools need great leadership to adequately educate the next generation of adults. Businesses need great leadership to grow, prosper and successfully manage the dynamics of the economy. Countries need great leadership for the benefit of it’s citizens. Leadership plays a key role in accomplishing the plans and purposes of God. So why is there so much chaos and confusion in our families, schools, businesses and governments?

Our leaders lack wisdom…the application of God’s truths, principles and commands in life’s situations. The fruits of godly wisdom, as outlined in the above verses, can make a profound positive impact in every area of life. But why do we experience chaos and confusion instead? We don’t apply wisdom in our personal lives, and we omit the first step:

Proverbs 9:10

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

If we choose not to respect His holiness, or to serve, trust and obey Him, we’ll get more of what we have now: chaos and confusion.
