He who cultivates his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless people and frivolous pursuits will have plenty of poverty.
My grandfather was a farmer his entire life. Every spring he would use his old blue tractor to till the soil, and prepare the ground for planting. Days were long and the work was hard in the hot Mississippi sun. But when we used to visit him around Thanksgiving, his freezer was full of vegetables he had harvested that fall. Thanksgiving dinner was a feast of all sorts of meats, vegetables and desserts made with homemade butter. This feast that the entire family enjoyed all started with my grandfather cultivating the land and preparing his crops the previous spring.

God has given us gifts, talents, skills and opportunities for us to cultivate, i.e., to prepare, improve and refine. All of these are “planted”, so to speak, in a very rare and precious commodity called time. What we choose to do with our time now will have a major impact on our future.
Use your time wisely. Take advantage of what God has given you and “cultivate” it. The “crops” you plant today will be your “feast” of the future, not only for you, but for others.
