Proverbs 29:17

Discipline your child, and it will bring you peace of mind and give you delight.

Most of us have had our children participate in some sort of competition. We take them to practice, discuss their performance, encourage them when they are face obstacles, and support them win, lose or draw. We dedicate a lot of time and are very active in their lives as they compete.

The Bible instructs us as parents, to be just as involved in all aspects of our children’s lives, not just organized competition. If we discipline our children (correct, instruct, punish, teach) in love, then we help them develop the character traits that will benefit them most as adults:

  • Integrity
  • Patience
  • Kindness
  • Courage
  • Self-Control
  • Faithfulness

And as they develop into godly men and women, we can be their best cheerleader and take joy in their accomplishments.
