Proverbs 22:1

A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. (NIV)

A good name [earned by honorable behavior, godly wisdom, moral courage, and personal integrity] is more desirable than great riches; And favor is better than silver and gold. (AMP)

What is the daily goal of your life? We have things we are trying to achieve; a better job, a promotion, a degree, a bigger house. All of those are fine, in and of themselves. But they need to be wrapped up in a character, behavior and mindset that pursues and honors God.

The goal of God’s sanctification process in our lives is to make us more like Christ. As we pursue that, we develop a “good name”, and blessings will flow from it.

A good name is built on character. It can open doors that would normally be shut. It can grant you favor, even among your enemies. A good name is like gold amongst gravel…its value stands out among the crowd.
